Google’s Region Tag

Google announced on Dec 1 2009 their support for region tags. This will be added to the green address line on the bottom of the search results. The goal of this addition is to help users locate where your site is located. It is not really useful if you are in the EU and don’t do business in the USA to have people from the USA clicking your site.

It is good for your ego I guess, but it doesn’t really help you sell your product or service, or the potential customer who will just click the back button anyway.
