Lies, Damn Lies, & Marketers

Sick Of The Pitch?
Yes I admit it, I am sick of all the pitches. Especially the underhanded marketers who come close to being downright liars. Enough is enough, I have had it.

If marketers want to understand why unsubscribe rates are so high, well here are a couple of reasons to start you off.

When Free Ain’t Free

How about this marketing “ploy”. Marketer X offers a free CD. All you need to do is enter your name and email address then click on the button. That is fair, you are giving your information for a free CD; classic marketing. You click and the offer is suddenly changed. The CD is free, but you have to pay for the shipping. You say to yourself, “ok that is fair”, and you click on the paypal link to complete the order. Luckily you noticed in the fine print another change. Instead of only paying for the shipping you are now paying $2.99 for the first month (the supposed shipping) and then a recurring $29.99 each month thereafter. This to me is outright fraud.

I am actually pretty pissed off that some marketing “gurus” resort to these BS tactics. Maybe it was a mistake, but I doubt it. Don’t F$%^ with me, just tell me the terms up front. For example, if you sign up for my monthly seminar (or whatever) I will send you a free CD and give you the first month for $2.99 after the first month it is $29.99 per month or whatever the terms are. At least then the prospect will understand what they are potentially buying.

QUIT LYING to your customers, the big marketing gurus should be ashamed of themselves for promoting products like this. This is exactly why the internet marketing is getting the reputation of being a haven for SCAMS.

How Many Emails Can A Marketer Email?

Is anyone else sick and tired of receiving 6 emails a day for some other new way to make a ton of money or get 10,000 people on your list. Lets face it, most of the offers are out of date information being peddled by a bunch of other marketers. OK, it is marketing, but don’t write one report saying, this is the only report you need and then 3 hours later send another email about the new, only 27 left, offer you must have.

Enough ranting, but at least you know why I hit the unsubscribe button.
